In this video, I give my thoughts on Apple’s latest software revision of the iPhone dubbed version 2.1. At the Sept 9th event, Steve Jobs touted this update as being “huge” and promised it would address all of our concerns including: application crashing/hanging, dropped calls, poor battery life, system slowness, long backup times, and the like. Over the past 3 days, I’ve been using my iPhone with the 2.1 software for quite a bit, and I must say, I believe Steve kept his word. Some of the areas I noticed the most were backup times, 3rd party application stability, 3rd party application installation speed, overall stability, and overall speed. This update also brought the “Genius” feature to the iPhone which allows one to generate “super smart” playlists based a certain song. Genius has been hit or miss for me, but generally, it does a decent job. My personal playlists will always be better in my opinion. So overall, if you are a user of the 2.0 software on the iPhone, I highly recommend you upgrade immediately. This update fixes a lot of issues that I think you could benefit from. Enjoy!

Tonido is just about the coolest thing since the Internet itself. Tonido is an Online Web App that allows you to completely organize and share files with anyone you like. Tonido installs software on your computer (this software is cross platform by the way) and starts a local server that allows you to use it’s excellent interface to upload files such as music, pictures, regular documents, and just about anything. You can then add the people you want to share with to your group and they can access you files and you can access theirs. You may be saying that other similar programs already exist but trust me, there is none as good as this. To get this cross-platform software and begin sharing and working together with your friends/coworkers today head over to http://tonido.com and download the software as shown in the video.
